The fine print

Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect what we need to plan your dinners, we don't sell it, and you can delete it anytime. The long version is below.

§ 1Who we are

Monday Made Meals ("we," "us") is a meal planner, grocery list, and recipe keeper available at mondaymademeals.com (the "Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The Service is intended for people in the United States. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hi@mondaymademeals.com.

§ 2What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account info: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google profile name, email, and profile picture.
  • Your content: recipes (including links, pasted text, and photos you import), meal plans, grocery lists, pantry items, stores, notes, and anything else you add to the Service.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: which features you use, pages you view, and actions you take in the app.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and timestamps.
  • Error reports: technical details when something breaks, so we can fix it.

Information from others

  • Google, if you choose Google sign-in (see above).
  • Stripe, our payment processor, tells us your subscription status, plan, and billing dates. We never see or store your full card number.

§ 3How we use it

We use your information to:

  • provide, maintain, and secure the Service;
  • power features like recipe import, meal planning, and grocery lists, including learning your store's layout and the staples you re-buy so your lists get better over time;
  • process payments and manage your subscription;
  • send you account emails, like sign-in links and billing notices;
  • answer your questions and provide support;
  • prevent fraud and abuse, including making sure each person gets one free trial;
  • understand how the Service is used so we can improve it; and
  • comply with the law.

We only email you about your account. No newsletters or marketing emails. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

§ 4AI features

Some features send content to third-party AI providers to process your request. For example, we use AI to:

  • read a recipe page, photo, or pasted text and turn it into a clean recipe with ingredients and steps;
  • sort your grocery list by aisle; and
  • suggest which night to cook what in your meal plan.

We send only the content needed for that request. Our AI providers process it under their own terms and privacy policies. AI output can be wrong, so give it a quick look before you rely on it.

§ 6Browser extension

Our Chrome extension reads a page only after you click it there. While its panel stays open, it keeps reading that tab as you move around the same site. To tell you if a recipe is already in your kitchen, it sends us a scrambled version of the page's address.

The recipe itself (text, the page's address, and a photo link) is sent only when you hit Save. The extension keeps your sign-in on your device. It doesn't see your other tabs.

§ 7Support access

To troubleshoot problems and provide support, we may view your account as you see it. We only do this to investigate an issue, fix a bug, or respond to your request, and never for any other purpose.

§ 8Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account anytime from your account settings. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and everything you've added, including recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and pantry items.

A few things are kept after deletion:

  • If you ever subscribed, we keep a one-way scrambled version (a hash) of your email address. It can't be turned back into your email. We use it only to check whether someone has already had a free trial.
  • Stripe keeps its own billing records, as required for tax and legal reasons, under its privacy policy.
  • Server logs are deleted automatically after about 30 days. Usage analytics are kept only as long as they're useful for improving the Service, then deleted.
  • We may keep information when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.

§ 9Where your data lives

We and our service providers store and process information in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

§ 10When we share information

We share personal information only:

  • with service providers who help us run the Service (listed below), who may use it only to provide their services to us;
  • when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or us;
  • as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of the Service, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information; or
  • with your consent.

§ 11Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and trusted infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, though, so we can't guarantee that your information will never be accessed, disclosed, or lost. If you think your account has been compromised, email us right away.

§ 12Cookies, local storage, and Do Not Track

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember settings like your theme, and hold edits until they're saved. Our analytics provider uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how the Service is used. We don't use advertising cookies or trackers.

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no common standard for it, so we don't respond to it. We also don't track you across other websites.

§ 13Your choices and rights

You can:

  • view and edit most of your information right in the app;
  • delete your account from your account settings; and
  • email us at hi@mondaymademeals.com to request a copy of your information or to ask us to correct or delete it.

If you're outside the United States, you may have additional rights under local law. Email us and we'll do our best to help, including with requests to access, correct, or delete your information.

§ 14Children

The Service isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

§ 15Service providers

We currently use these service providers:

  • Convex: database and backend
  • Cloudflare: hosting, image storage, and AI
  • Stripe: payments
  • Resend: email delivery
  • Google: sign-in and AI
  • Firecrawl: fetching recipe links
  • PostHog: product analytics and error reports
  • Axiom: server logs

This list may change as the Service changes, and we may be a little behind in updating it.

§ 16Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and if the changes are material, we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
